Obituary of Julia B Vanderoef

Julia B. VanDeroef, died Dec. 26, 2012 age 94 at Lehigh Center Genesis healthcare, Macungie, PA. She was born in Westfield, NJ on Jan. 7, 1918. Mother Elizabeth (Becker) Clark, step father Samuel Clark. Married to Norman S. VanDeroef Sept.11, 1941 until his death Aug. 1994, a veteran and POW in WWII saw service at the battle of the bulge. She and her husband lived in Basking Ridge for over 40 years. She was a member of the Bishop Janes Methodist church, homemaker and worked at C.R. Bard until her retirement in 1983. Surviving a son Douglas N. VanDeroef and wife Denise of Naples NY. Daughter Joan (VanDeroef) Bettler and husband Frank A. Bettler of Germansville PA. Granddaughter Lauren C. VanDeroef of Canandaigua NY. Grandson David F. Bettler and wife Carol, great granddaughter Kaelin, great grandson Aidan of Wescosville PA. Grandson Alan W. Bettler and wife Heather, great granddaughter Gretchen of Keene, NH. She loved gardening and baking. She always had a smile and made everyone smile around her. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the Alzheimer foundation for research.
