Obituary of Dorothy Eschenbach

Dorothy Jean Eschenbach of Basking Ridge, NJ, formerly of Morristown, NJ passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024 at the age of 97.  Dorothy was born February 6, 1927.  She was a graduate of Norwood High School, Norwood, OH.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, George Eschenbach, Jr.  She will be dearly missed by her two children: George Eschenbach, III (wife Gail) of Naples, FL and Lynne Horsfield (husband Bob) of St. Louis, MO; and four grandchildren: George Eschenbach IV (wife Liz), Kirsten Eschenbach Hammitt (husband Mark), Rob Horsfield, and Alex Horsfield (wife Jenna).  She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Riley and Finn Eschenbach, Will, Nick and Hallie Hammitt, Harper Horsfield, and Mae, Ellis and Georgia Horsfield.

She will be lovingly remembered by numerous other relatives and friends including her friends at Fellowship Village.

Lovingly called “Itty Bitty” by her grandchildren and "Grammy" by her great-grandchildren, Dorothy was very proud of her family and loved spending time with them.  She also loved to read, play Bridge and golf, and socialize.

Services will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (a fund in her memory has been set up).
