I can still recall being a Thanksgiving refugee and the Jaegers taking me in! What a lovely home Mrs Jaeger created with such obvious love for her family, human and dog. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Richard and Susie have been dear friends for more than 40 years—since we all lived in Indiana, where Allan and Richard went to Notre Dame together. Over the years, Susie created beautiful, comfortable homes for Richard, and, later, Tim and Dan. She was a great Mom and raised two wonderful, bright and talented young men who we’ve loved to watch grow up. Susie’s love of cooking was enjoyed by all of us many times on weekend visits to their homes in Illinois, New York and New Jersey. Susie’s love of animals was a constant in her life. We first met Buttons the cat in Brooklyn, and, later, Kelly, Claudia and Mona. Susie is sadly missed and will always be loved and remembered.

Mary and I were long-time friends and served as maids of honor at each other's weddings. From the time I was nine years old, and our family moved to the north side, we became good friends. We enjoyed shopping, going to movies and taking walks. One of our most memorable experiences was sneaking off to River Park Theater to see the movie "Peyton Place." This movie had been rated as morally condemned by the Catholic Church, and our parents did not think we should see it. That didn't stop us! Farewell, my dear friend. You will never be forgotten. Love, Carol
