Charlene Margaret (Chickie) Cawley, 90, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2024. A Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 16 Blue Mill Rd, New Vernon, NJ 07967. Mass will begin at 10 am on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Charlene was born just outside of Philadelphia, Pa. on April 10, 1934. She worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines in New York. During this time, she met and married Lt. Col. William J. Cawley. Spending some time together in England and finally returning to the United States as their family expanded. “Chickie” enjoyed traveling, painting and was a devoted Mother to her five children.

Charlene is survived by her children: Shayne (Tom) Prorock, Kathleen (Jack) Cooney, William J. Cawley Jr., Erin (Timothy) Keys, and Christina (Chris) Borman. Grandchildren: Michael, Daniel, John, Anna, Kristy, Colleen, Sean, Maggie, Christopher and Chase. Siblings: Mary, Barbara and James. Great Grandchildren: Logan, Dariush, Liam, Kayden, Jo Ellen, Lynnon, Maryn, Sophie and Mav.
