Obituary of Anthony Graham

Anthony Jerome Graham, affectionately known as “Tony”, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on June 12, 2024, in his home in Basking Ridge, NJ at the age of 90. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born to Catherine and Thomas Graham in Scranton, PA, Anthony moved to Jersey City when in elementary school.

Tony was a man of immense kindness, humor, wisdom and humility, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a pillar of strength and beacon of love for his family.

On July 7 of 1956, Tony married the love of his life Rosalie in a beautiful ceremony at the church of St. Bridget’s in Jersey City. They were blessed with a beautiful marriage of 63 years. Together, they raised four children, Thomas, Kevin, Kathy and Sheryl.

Tony graduated from Saint Peter’s Preparatory School in Jersey City, a school that he spoke of often as he shared many cherished memories. He went on to attend NJIT where he pursued a degree in civil engineering and graduated with high honors, and was a member of Chi Epsilon, the Civil Engineering Honor Society. He then continued his education at FDU where he obtained a master’s degree in business administration. He was also a lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve.

His career in civil engineering spanned over 50 years and was marked by many accomplishments. He was passionate about the career he loved.

Tony was also a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Professional Engineer. He served as a member of the executive board of the townhouse association where he lived.

He is predeceased by his loving wife Rosalie in 2020, and his sons Thomas Graham in 2015 and Kevin Graham in 2023. Tony is survived by his daughters Kathleen Graham of Flemington, NJ, and Sheryl Huston and husband Gary of Basking Ridge, NJ. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren Sgt. Thomas (TJ) Graham, U.S. Army (Retired), Mackenzie Huston, Christopher Huston; and his brother Thomas Graham of Ridgewood, NJ.

To commemorate his remarkable life, a service will be held at Saint James Church in Basking Ridge on Tuesday, June 18 at 11:00 am. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be forever missed. Following the church service, Tony will be laid to rest alongside his cherished wife at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown, NJ. A further celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
