Obituary of Robert R Donnelly
Robert Russell Donnelly, 84, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away on May 30, 2024, in Bridgeway Care and Rehab Center at Hillsborough, NJ.
Visitation will be held at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ on Monday, June 3, 2024 from 4:00 -7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross, 145 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ.
Robert Donnelly was born in Newark, NJ to John Donnelly and Catherine Stritch onFebruary 4, 1940. After high school he worked for Bendix as a machinist, Quick Stop Car Radio Repair Shop, Short Hills mall as head Custodian and finally for Aramark as Custodian at Liberty Corner Elementary School in Basking Ridge where he was fondly called Mr. Bob. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling to England, Ireland, and California.
Robert is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Barbara & Joseph Palmieri of Bridgewater, NJ, Sandra & Sean Young of Howell, NJ. Grandchildren Ryan & Stephanie Palmieri, Joseph & Beth Palmieri, Kristen & Griffin Dunne, Sarah Ferguson, Michael & Jenna Ferguson. Eight Great Grandchildren Harper, Isla, & Kinsey Palmieri, Rivi, Zivah, & Caleb Ferguson, and soon to arrive Baby Dunne. He is preceded in death by his longtime partner Pauline Schuster. Predeceased: by his parents, brothers Frank, Jackie, George and William Donnelly
