Obituary of Donald C Hudson
Donald Hudson, a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away on February 24, 2024. He leaves behind cherished memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew him.
Donald was born on April 1, 1944 in Newark, NJ to Charles and Harriet Hudson. He was a beloved husband to Veronica (Tuohy) Hudson, brother to Carole Koslow (Bart), uncle to Lara Koslow, and a loving father to Michael Hudson (Kelly) and Beth DiDomenico (Charley). Donald was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Matthew, Caroline, Charley, Ellie, Patrick, Johnny, and Andrew.
Donald served his country with honor and dedication in the Air Force, stationed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After his service, he worked for many years in sales. He loved coaching baseball and softball. He found great joy visiting flea markets, collecting baseball cards and memorabilia, and antiques. He later embraced retirement, where he found immense joy in spending quality time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was their biggest fan, attending every football, basketball, soccer, and baseball game he could. He taught them how to fish, fly a kite, and so much more. He loved to be outdoors, gardening, walking, and enjoying trips to the Jersey Shore.
Donald's smile could light up a room and so many were drawn to his radiant personality. Donald was not only a remarkable husband, father, and grandfather, but a true friend to many. His legacy of compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
The family invites relatives and friends to join them in a celebration of Donald's life. A wake will be held at Galloway and Crane, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, from 4-7 pm on February 29th. A Funeral Mass in remembrance of Donald will take place at St. James Church, 184 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, at 10 a.m. on March 1st.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a cause that held a special place in Donald's heart.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Donald Hudson for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the legacy of warmth and kindness he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace in the loving embrace of the Lord.
