Obituary of Christine Rhoades

Christine Rhoades passed away peacefully on January 12 at her home in New Providence, New Jersey.  She was 79 years old. 

Chris was born in Brooklyn to the late Marion and Anthony Meyers, and grew up in Garden City, NY. She attended Marymount College in Alexandria, Va, lived in New York City for several years, and moved to Basking Ridge in 1972 where she lived for nearly 50 years.  She was one of five Meyers children, sisters Eileen, Kathleen and brothers Michael, and Tony. 

Chris worked for several years at Turpin Real Estate, the USGA, and Fellowship Village. She enjoyed spending time on the beaches of Long Island and the Jersey Shore, travelling, and spending time with friends and family. 

Chris will be missed by her children Colleen Dwyer of Exeter, NH, John Dwyer and wife Christin of Elkins, NH, and Brian Dwyer and wife Paige of Madison, NJ as well as her seven grandchildren, Bella, Luca, Gia, Finn, Elsie, Luke and Rory.

A memorial visitation  will be held on February 4, 2024 at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ from 12 PM to 1:30 PM followed immediately by a memorial service at the funeral home.
