Obituary of Ida Anne Cuccia

Ida Anne Cuccia 85 of Far Hills, NJ passed away Wednesday November 8, 2023 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara , CA.
Ida was born in Cassino, Italy where she grew up with her mother, two sisters, and brother during the WW II bombings of Montecasino where they lived.

During the bombings Ida and her sisters were displaced from their mother and brother.
Rescued by American soldiers, they lived in foxholes until they were eventually reunited with their mother and brother . All to board a cargo ship headed to Ellis Island where she would meet her father for the first time at age seven at their new home in Long Island City Queens.

Years later she met her husband Dennis on an elevator in the Empire State Building. They were married after six weeks of dating.
Years later they had their son Rob. Idas dream life was now complete.
They moved from NYC to Wyckoff, NJ before moving to Basking Ridge , Bernardsville, later settling in Far Hills.

Ida went on to have a successful 40yr. career in Banking. She enjoyed interior design, cooking, and being surrounded by young people, family, and friends.

Ida spent the last year of her life living at the beach with her son Rob and his wife Faith at their home in Santa Barbara, CA.

She is survived by her loving son Rob, her daughter in law Faith of Santa Barbara, CA and Far Hills, NJ. Also survived by her neices and nephews, Anna, Melinda, Jeanine , Joseph, Gina, and Joseph. Her cousins, James, Enrico, and Marie Nigro.

Ida was married to Dennis for 61yrs. until his passing in April 2022.

Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Josephs Church 6 New St. Mendham, NJ 07945
