Albeit I was not privileged to meet John in life I came to know him somewhat while attending his wake with my Post 7858 VFW comrades and after reading his obituary.I learned that he was WW ll army veteran who lost a brother during the Battle of the Bulge - a battle that my father also fought in. I’m indebted to these 3 comrades in arms for the great service and sacrifice ( in John’s brother’s case - for his supreme sacrifice) they’d made for our country to help secure our freedom. I learned also that John lived life with love in his heart - for God and his church, his family , relatives, and friends , and humankind in general. He displayed his love via persistent use of his significant skill sets which in total worked to help make our world a better place. In doing so he earned his new place midst God’s pantheon of Saints from where his star now shines- down to guide us. We will see him again.
My sincerest condolences to all who love John on the occasion of his passing.

God bless John. He volunteered at the VA Hospital in the Office of Performance Meaurent and Improvement and later, the office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation for many years. He managed the Customer Service program called “We’re Listening” where he gathered feedback from Veterans receiving care at Lyons to inform service delivery and make improvements. His contribution made an impact for his fellow Veterans. He was steadfast and effective in his volunteer work. He always spoke highly of his wife, children and grandchildren. It is an honor to have had an opportunity to walk with him on some of life’s journey. May God welcome him into his heavenly kingdom and bless his family with peace.
