Obituary of Gerald Joseph Beaudry

Gerald (Jerry) Joseph Beaudry, a venerable pillar of strength, humor, and unconditional love, passed on July 14, 2023, at the age of 93. Born on October 27th, 1929, in Boston, Massachusetts, Jerry was the cherished son of the late Leona and Oscar Beaudry.

A devoted family man, Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Beaudry. His legacy continues in his two sons, Jerry Beaudry of Hicksville, NY, and Theodore (Ted) Beaudry of Basking Ridge, NJ. Their families, including his daughter-in-law, Christina Beaudry, and three granddaughters, Isabella, Madison, and Faith Beaudry, were a source of immense joy and pride for Jerry. His effervescent personality, love of laughter, and profound affection for his loved ones will continue to live on in their hearts. His love extended not only to his immediate family but also to his extended family, especially his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Judy Pasnik, caretaker Mayra, as well as niece Kathy Kuroly whom he adored.

As a symbol of strength and resilience, Jerry lived a life that defied conventional limitations. He held an almost invincible constitution, embodying a robust zest for life that seemingly rendered him immune to almost anything - he could metaphorically eat off the floor or drink from a garden hose without falling ill. His unstoppable nature was further reflected in his love for life's simple pleasures, whether it was fishing in the deep sea with his son Ted or fulfilling a dream to fish in Maine with his niece Kathy Kuroly, aided by his dear friends Kristen and Jerry Oleske in 2021.

Jerry's strength extended beyond physical robustness into the realm of tenacity and perseverance. His health journey was marked by formidable challenges, ones that very few can come back from. Yet, Jerry defied odds and predictions, standing at the edge of life and choosing to fight, to live, and to celebrate his 90th birthday. His grit and determination, even to his last breath, have taught his family the true meaning of willpower.

Jerry's service in both World War II and the Korean War as part of the US Army Air Forces and the United States Air Force illustrated his dedication to his country. His unwavering commitment continued in his everyday life, as he served the Civil Air Patrol for over 50 years, the VFW, and stayed true to his beliefs and values.

His dedication also extended to his faith. As a devoted Catholic, Jerry found strength and solace in his prayers and accepted communion in his home till the end.

In remembering Jerry, we celebrate a man who lived to the fullest, who danced and laughed, who loved unconditionally, and who persevered against all odds. He was a man who remained dedicated to his family, faith, and country. His life story is a testament to resilience, joy, and the power of love - a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide his family and all who knew him.
