Mary Jane Pope Kvederas, 82, passed away peacefully with her son Christopher by her side on Tuesday June 27th at Laurel Circle in Bridgewater NJ. Visitation will be held at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge NJ on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 5-8pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, 11am at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge NJ. Mary Jane, also lovingly called "MJ', was born in Plainfield, NJ to parents Paul and Anne Pope on Sept 21, 1940. She attended North Plainfield High School and Raritan Valley Community College where she graduated with her nursing degree. While raising her family in Basking Ridge, she also worked as a nurse at Runnels Hospital in Berkeley Heights.

MJ loved spending time at the New Jersey shore, playing bridge with friends, a glass of wine or a good cup of coffee and conversation. She touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed, especially during Christmas, the time of the year she most enjoyed.

Mary Jane is survived by her 3 sons, Kevin Kvederas of Easton PA, Christopher and his wife Laura of Denville NJ, Brian Kvederas of Bridgewater NJ, and 2 granddaughters Jane and Eva Kvederas. Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Thomas Kvederas, her parents Paul and Anne Pope of North Plainfield and her sister Paula Anne Pope.

In lieu of flowers, Mary Jane's family is asking that donations be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The American Cancer Society.
