Louisa V Mastrobattista Obituary

Louisa V. Mastrobattista, 92, passed on to eternal rest on Tuesday, May 30 th after

a short illness. She was born in 1931 in Bernardsville, NJ, at the family home on

Maple Street. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to 1 Center Street in

Bernardsville where Louisa lived for over 60 years. Louisa graduated from

Bernards High School in 1950, and soon embarked on a decades’ long career

managing the business operation for St. James Parish in Springfield, NJ. A student

of fine cooking, Louisa was known to family and friends, especially her beloved

nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, as a culinary artist and always

prepared the best Italian dishes on holidays and other special occasions. Louisa

also cherished living in the Little Italy area of Bernardsville, and was very active in

the community, especially St. Elizabeth Parish.




The true Matriarch of her family, Louisa was always there to help and care for

everyone, whether family or friend, and took great pride in giving back to others.

Louisa was predeceased by her mother, Pasqualina, her father, Secondo, and her

brothers, Attilio, Sam and Victor “Nebs.” She is survived by her brother Andrew

and his wife Verneen, and her nieces and nephews Sam, Mary and her husband

Rick, Patricia and her husband Mike, Michael, Bruce, Sandra and her husband Jim,

Glenn and his wife Jill, Darla and her husband Tony, Andrea, Mark and his wife

Nancy, and 15 great nieces and nephews.




A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of

Perpetual Help Church in Bernardsville. Interment will follow at Holy Cross

Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
