Obituary of Lucy C Kosecki

Lucy Kosecki
January 19, 1924 - May 28,2023

Lucy Kosecki , age 99 of Brooklyn N.Y went home to be with Jesus on May 28, 2023. Born in Brooklyn,
NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Capabianco. She was one of eight children and
is survived by only two, Elizabeth and Rita. She was the beloved mother of daughter, Janet Wagner and
son, Robert Kosecki (daughter in-law, Celie Kosecki) , proud grandmother of Chelsea Kosecki and Derek
Kosecki (wife Kylie Fehnel) and a great grand daughter.

Lucy met her husband, Edward Kosecki during WW2 and they got married in 1945 eventually settling in
Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She was the loving wife of Edward for almost 73 years until his death in 2018. She
worked for many years in the fashion and garment industry assisting several top designers on new
trends in clothes designs. She loved to cook for her family as well as kept an immaculate house where
she lived for many years. Lucy enjoyed frequent vacations and get a way to some far-away places in the
Caribbean, Alaska and several others as well as many trips to Atlantic City.

After her husband’s death, Lucy went to live with her daughter in Basking Ridge. Janet attended to her
every need until her death where she died peacefully at home.

Most of all Lucy loved her family and instilled in her son, daughter and grandchildren strong values that
have served them well through the years. She was a devoted, kind and generous mother always having a
caring ear to listen to her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and forever in
our hearts.

The family would like to thank the staff of Home Well Care in particular Mercedes, her long time home
aid for her outstanding care and kindness as well as the staff of Fellowship Village Hospice for their
guidance.

Visitation will be held on June 2, 2023 from 9 AM - 10:30 AM at Gallaway and Crane Funeral home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking
Ridge, NJ 07920. Funeral Mass will follow at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ at
11 AM.
