Obituary of Jacqueline Mathilde Marti

Jacqueline Matilde Appoline Marti, age 95, died peacefully on March 6, 2023, at her home in the Fellowship Village Senior Living
Community, in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, Jacqueline was born on June 25, 1927 to Louis and Matilde Hennet in Metz, France. She attended the Université de Clermont in France. Jacqueline met Jakob Marti while working for the US Army in Switzerland. In 1953, they married in Paris. They had one son,
Steven Jean Louis. They loved to travel throughout the world and made many wonderful memories along the way.


For most of his career, Jacob worked for Conoco-Phillips in London, Paris, Zurich, and New York. When Jacob retired in 1984, he and Jacqueline moved from London to New Providence, NJ. Following the death of her husband, Jacqueline moved to Fellowship Village Senior Living Community in 2005. Jacqueline was an incredibly kind, caring, loving, and intelligent woman. She was a voracious reader, had an adorable laugh, loved to shop, was an excellent cook, and enjoyed the many friendships she made throughout her life.


Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Jakob, and their son, Steven. She is survived by her granddaughter, Valerie Schneider, who lives in Germany.

 

A visitation and service will be held for Jacqueline at the Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, located at 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. The visitation will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 from 10:00 - 11:00AM; the service will begin at 11:00AM. There will be a short graveside service at the New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery (1307 Springfield Ave., New Providence, NJ 07974) at 12:00PM.  For further information or to leave an online condolence message please visit gcfuneralhome.com
