Obituary of Robert Puglisi
Robert Puglisi, 87, passed away at Runnells Nursing Home in Berkley Heights, NJ on Dec. 4, 2022. He is survived by his two sons Robert Jr. and Ralph, along with his grandchildren, as well as several beloved very close friends.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY. Bob joined the Army and proudly served during the Korean war in 1954 as a Specialist Third Class for the 3rd Infantry Division, 7th Regiment-Able Company, and was an outstanding pitcher for the Army baseball team. Additionally, he was the former Commander of VFW post 7858, of which he remained an active member of the post, including participated in all their fundraising events.
Bob was a devout member of St. James Church and was an usher for many years. He also was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus. Robert loved to cook, dance, watch westerns and old movies and his favorite being Casablanca. His friends will remember him as a great conversationalist who was sociable, outgoing, and enjoyed telling stories. He cared very much for his friends and family and embraced talking to and meeting new people. Bob always enjoyed going out to eat, especially for breakfast, and was always up for a good Italian dinner. Bob often talked about his Italian heritage and was a very proud Sicilian.
He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on December 9, 2022 from 9:00 - 10:00am at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. James Church, 184 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ.
