Obituary of Angelo Greco

Angelo Greco was born on 6/7/37 in Bagheria, Sicily, to Rosa & Matteo Greco.  His life exemplifies a strong work ethic, loyalty, generosity, perseverance, a sense of humor and a strong connection to family.

From a humble and hard young life, at an early age, Angelo exhibited a spirit of exploring life’s opportunities & his willingness to work hard. He traveled to Venezuela at the age of 13 and worked for 7 years in a hospital for disabled children making orthotic shoes.  This was to be an extraordinarily lucky decision that was to shape his future.  He relocated to the United States at 23 years of age, worked multiple jobs, adding additional skills including business experience and became a master shoe cobbler, opening his own very successful shoe repair business in the World Financial Center, in the heart of New York City.  

He met Marsha, the love of his life, in 1967 and they made a life together for 55 years.  They worked together expanding their successful business, until they both retired in 2000 and resettled in Bedminster, New Jersey.  He was a father and role model for his beloved son, Joshua, until his untimely passing.  

Angelo spent the last 22 years in retirement with his passion and love of gardening and cooking and his soulmate Marsha.  He was a fantastic cook, specializing, of course, in Italian food that he shared with his family, friends and neighbors.  This gave him great joy.  Despite his chronic illnesses and chronic pain, he maintained an active and productive life with a positive disposition and outlook.  He recently achieved a life desire and became a United States citizen withthe right to vote.

He had a variety of serious medical issues that ultimately led to his demise. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his beloved son, Joshua. 

He is loved and missed more than words can express. Knowing that he is now safe, no longer suffering from pain and with his son, Joshua, makes our grieving less unbearable.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ from 4:00 - 6:00pm. Memorial Service will be at 5:30pm.
