Obituary of Gladys Korey

Gladys L. "Pat" Korey, 88, passed away at her home in Whitehouse Station, NJ on Sept. 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Edwardsville, Pa. Gladys Lewis was raised in Forty Fort, Pa. where she attended and graduated from Forty Fort High School in 1942. After marrying her late husband, John Korey in July 29, 1945 they moved to Jersey City, Bayonne and Whitehouse Station. Gladys worked for Jan-Marc Catering in Bayonne as the Catering Manager. After retiring in 1989 she began volunteering at the Bayonne Hospital Emergency Room. She was also a former board member of the Whitehouse Station Village Home Owner's Association. She is survived by her two son's J. Mark and wife Diane Korey, Middlesex NJ, Roger and wife Mary Korey, Bernardsville, NJ, granddaughter Grace Korey, and sister Minerva Caves, Ocala, Fl. She was predeceased by sisters, Ilonwhy Sachs, Olwyn Oldfield, Margaret Eddy, Ceinwen DeMarco, brothers Robert Lewis and Harry Hayden Lewis. Visitation will be held at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home 101 South Finley Ave Basking Ridge, NJ on Sat. Sept. 29, 2012 1:30 to 3:00PM with a Memorial Service beginning at 3:00PM. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Gladys' name may be made to the Hunterdon Hospice or the Hunterdon Medical Center Foundation, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
