Obituary of Mary K McCarthy

Mary K McCarthy, of Bernardsville, NJ, passed away on Tuesday August 28, 2012 at the Morristown Medical Center. Miss McCarthy was born in Bernardsville, NJ where she resided her entire life. Mary graduated from Seton Hall and Fordham University with a Masters degree from both. She also graduated from All Souls Hospital as a nurse. Mary worked as a nurse for over 50 years, of which half of which was spent as Nursing Supervisor of Oncology at Morristown Memorial Hospital. She also worked at Sloan Kettering and New York Presbyterian Hospitals in NY. She was a teacher of Nursing at Seton Hall University. Mary was a patient's advocate to many people both at work and in Bernardsville. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bernardsville, NJ. Mary was predeceased by her parents Daniel and Margaret McCarthy and her brother Daniel who was killed in action in the Philippines in1944 while proudly severing his Country in the US Army. A liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Saturday September1, 2012 at 10am at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Bernardsville, NJ followed by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge, NJ. A visitation will be held on September 1, 2012 from 9 until service time at the Church. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mary's name to a charity of your choose.
