Obituary of Dennis M Galvin

Dennis Michael Galvin, 74, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, December 19th, 2021 at home. A private memorial will be held at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, For further information please contact the funeral home, or leave an online condolence message for the family. Dennis was born in Chicago, Illinois to Jay and Grace Galvin on August 28th, 1947. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University in 1969. Dennis was a legendary finance expert with a career that included working as a CFO for New Zealand Reinsurance (NZ RE) and Chatham Reinsurance, an auditor in various positions, a finance executive at Northwestern Hospital and Crum and Forster, a Controller at Peat Marwick, and as an accountant in South Korea for the Army as part of the Vietnam draft. He enjoyed working in his yard, long talks, and tropical vacations. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sharon Galvin, daughter, Shelly, sons, Matthew and Dennis Jay, stepsons Thomas, Todd, and Timothy Sicklinger, brother Ronald Galvin (Judi), brother-in-law James Pacetti, grandchildren Maddox, Colette, and Rowan, and many nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, father, twin brother Dale, and sister Lynne. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
