Obituary of Garland S. Jenkins

Garland “Gary” Jenkins, of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away October 16, 2021.  Gary's memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ from 10:00 am to 1:00pm. For further information, or to leave an online condolence message please visit www.gcfuneralhome.com.  Gary was born June 24, 1950 in Laramie, Wyoming, to Paul and Wanda Jenkins. His father served in the military as a pilot and flight instructor during WWII and the Korean War.  He later worked in computer information services for various companies. His mother was a homemaker with a masters degree in Bacteriology, and was the President of the League of Women Voters. They moved to Basking Ridge in 1966.  Gary loved fishing, traveling, trains of all kinds, and insisted on wearing shorts almost all the time, even when he was snow-blowing the driveway :)   Gary is survived by his loving wife, Ulla, his daughter Whitney, his stepchildren, Jimmy, Jerry, and Mikael, his parents, Paul and Wanda Jenkins, his siblings, Diane, Susan, and Craig, his grandchildren, Sebastian, Annika, Kierstin and Konrad, as well as innumerable extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), a cause that was very close to his heart.
