Obituary of Lauren E. Mulcahy
Lauren Mulcahy, age 57, of Mendham, NJ passed away on August 23, 2021 surrounded by her family after a long and fearless battle with cancer. Born on July 21, 1964 to John and Margaret Jannucci, Lauren attended Mendham High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University in 1986. Having grown up in Mendham, this is where Lauren met the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Matthew. Always devoted to one another, theirs was a love story that spanned 40 years, including 33 years of marriage. A loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and loyal friend, in Lauren’s understated way and as a woman of great faith she radiated positivity no matter the circumstance, embraced each day and did her part to make the world a better place for everyone around her.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew Mulcahy and her three adoring children, whom she considered to be her greatest accomplishment, Matthew Mulcahy and wife Lauren (Neureither); Laine Will (Mulcahy) and husband Tyler; and Katie Mulcahy. She is also survived by her mother and father, John and Margaret Jannucci; her brother Mark Jannucci (Mary Ann), and her two sisters Lynn O’Donnell (Jeff) and Margaret Jannucci; her father in-law Robert E. Mulcahy III; brothers-in-law Robert Mulcahy (Lynne), Kevin Mulcahy (Jennifer); sisters-in-law Cathleen Witczak (Stanley), Mary Elizabeth Mulcahy, Megan Romano (Francis), Deidre Hart (Ryan) and by her 16 nieces and nephews whom she doted on and was affectionately known as Aunt Laur Laur.
Family was the center of Lauren’s life. Her most treasured time was with her family - playing tennis and golf at Roxiticus Golf Club, summers spent boating and on the beach at the Jersey Shore, playing games, hiking at Schiff Nature Preserve, walking and just simply spending time together at home. Outgoing and vibrant, Lauren treasured the friends she made along the journey of her life and maintained those relationships over decades -- especially her Villanova friends with whom she still had annual summer gatherings. Lauren’s life was lived with tremendous faith, grace and dignity and will be the foundation of her legacy. Hers is a life for us to celebrate, to treasure and to emulate.
