Obituary of Concettina "Tina" Puleo

Tina Puleo, 85 years of age, of Bernardsville, NJ, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, with her husband Tony at her side. Born in Elizabeth, NJ to Louis and Madeline Ciorra, she resided in Bernardsville for 44 years. Prior to Bernardsville she lived in Mendham, NJ. Tina was devoted to her family and to her Catholic faith. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. More than anything, “Mimi” loved to smother her grandchildren with affection and spoil them every chance she had. It made her so proud to see them grow into fine young adults. Tina’s passion for travel and foreign cultures brought her and Tony to all corners of the world. She had a particular fondness for Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Tina was a loving and fun person that had a wide circle of friends both at home and abroad. During her son’s high school years at Delbarton, she was actively involved in the Mothers’ Guild. She was an avid reader, theater goer and a fantastic chef. She was also a warm and gracious host that loved to entertain. Her Thanksgiving celebration with family and friends was so much fun that it became a hot ticket event. Tina and Tony were childhood sweethearts that met while shewas attending Battin High School in Elizabeth, NJ. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Together they raised 3 sons: Joseph of Whitehouse Station, NJ, Lewis of Manhattan and Christopher of Bernardsville, NJ. She is survived by her husband, Tony, her 3 sons and their spouses, Carolyn, Evelyn and Pisey, 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Stephen, Tyler and Garrett, and her brother, Fr. Anthony Ciorra, the VP for Mission and Catholic Identity at Sacred Heart University. She was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Tavormina. Tina’s infectious laughter and loving hugs will be dearly missed. Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ. Funeral Mass is on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 129 Main St, Peapack, NJ.
