REGAN - Parker MacVeigh, beloved son of R. Christopher and Leslie Conway Regan, died suddenly on August 3rd, 2012 in a vehicular accident while vacationing in Montana. He was 19 and a resident of Mendham, NJ, and Amenia, NY. Raised in Bronxville, NY, and Mendham, Parker attended the Bronxville School, the Winston School, the Rumsey Hall School and had recently graduated from Suffield Academy. At Suffield, he was an honors student, squash player and golfer, earning five varsity letters in his three-year tenure. He was to begin his freshman year at Gettysburg College later this month.
Those who knew Parker described him as personable, cheerful and considerate; he had a warm smile and made sure those around him felt loved, appreciated, and happy. Charles Cahn III, Suffield's Headmaster, commented that Parker was "a wonderful young man.talented, thoughtful and very engaging," adding that "everyone at Suffield loved him and.he was a major success story at our school." David Rockwell, Parker's advisor at Suffield, praised his work ethic in the classroom and on the playing field, noting that "He knew what he needed to do, and he did it." While Parker's life ended prematurely, he was at one of his brightest moments, having enjoyed a wealth of rich experiences and accomplishments. Parker was an avid outdoorsman who particularly enjoyed fly-fishing and scuba diving trips with family and friends. Above all, Parker enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
