My mother-in-law was a shining example of unconditional love and acceptance. She took care of her husband, daughters, sons, son-in-laws and especially her grandchildren with tremendous devotion. When I first met Jean over 20 years ago, I immediately felt an incredible presence of God within her. She never missed an event when it came to her grandchildren. Her devotion to her family was epic. You were such an awesome mother-in-law to me and the love you showed me was like my own Mom. I was blessed to have two Moms. The impact you had on all of our lives will last forever. Now you will watch over us from heaven above.
Love you Steve

Jeannie/Mom was my teacher, role model, cheerleader and friend. Turns out she was the same for family members and friends too. She made everyone she came in contact with feel special, she just had that gift. All who had the privilege of knowing her came away better for it, and what a privilege it is that Jean is my mom.

My grandmother was more than compassionate, selfless, and devoted; she was unapologetically herself, which was truly an angel on earth. Over the past few days I have heard many refer to her as that, and I did not realize the truth it holds until now. She blessed everyone she encountered and wished ill will on no one, even those who may have deserved it from time to time. She listened to me when I cried and rejoiced with me when I was happy. If my name was associated with anything at all, she was sitting in the front row, program and tissue in hand, no doubt in preparation for the inevitable tears of love that would be flowing the second she caught a glimpse of us. I never once doubted the immense amount of support and love she had for me at any given moment. In times of fear and hopelessness, my grandma would say to me: "Do not be afraid, God is your co-pilot". And now, I will say the same to her. God decided that he needed to fill the empty seat next to him in the cockpit, and the only one who could do the job justice was my beautiful and intelligent grandmother. I know she is finally receiving the peace and infinite love in heaven that she has always deserved, and that thought makes my heart warm. I hope you don't mind Grandma, but I think I will change the quote a little bit. From now on, I will not be afraid, because God and Grandma are my co-pilots.
With all my love, Lizzy.

An unexpected opportunity came from quarantine last year around this time, where Grandma lived at home with us for a couple months. I was tasked with "breakfast duty" to make sure she checked her blood sugar and got an insulin shot, so we had breakfast together almost every morning. I'll always cherish the laughs and good conversation we had over tea during that time. <3

Mom, you chose to be there for us with a loving smile every time, in every way. I will miss your “hello darling” greeting, talks about religion, instructions on how to finesse a recipe, & most of all your devotion to your grandchildren. I am comforted knowing that your faith has brought you peace.
