Obituary of Ida A Nafie

Ida Nafie Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother Ida Nafie (nee Mirabello), 94, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at home. Born and raised in Morristown, NJ, she lived in Rockaway, NJ, until moving to Basking Ridge in 1986. Ida worked at Fireman's Fund Insurance for 10 years, retiring in 1986. Prior to that she worked at The Mennen Co., RCA, and Godiva Chocolates. Ida was predeceased by her husband Leroy Nafie in 1980. She was also predeceased by her brothers Tony and Sam and her sisters Sylvia Giordano, Evelyn Ogden, and Gloria Marino. She is survived by her children Leslie Bonsiewich and her husband Mike of Troy, VA, Scott and his wife Donna of Basking Ridge, Leigh Janosec and her husband John of Rockaway, NJ, and Lynne Bauer and her husband Tim of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Michael and his wife Caitlin, Adam and his wife Jennifer, Daniel and his wife Siobhan, Matthew, Rachel, Taylor, and Conner. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren Jack, Lucas, Zachary, and Gregory. Ida is survived by sisters-in-law Ida Mirabello, Joy “Bobbins” Hammel, brother-in-law Barry Nafie, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately after at 12:30pm at The Church of Saint James, 184 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.
