He was decent, genuinely, nice human being.....I met him in the 60's when we moved to Oldwick...I asked my neighbor if there was a dentist in the area and she gave me his name....I remember talking to another customer one day and she mentioned how she had to get the kids to the dentist. I thought Wow...how do you take everybody in at once...did he have a payment plan??? Yes, he sure did, especially for the farmers and others that depended on the weather, land, crops or any other clients with incomes over which they had no control if Mother Nature didn't comply....he knew when that animal went to sale, or that crop got came in he would be compensated no questions asked and so he trusted and it worked ...Another time I remember catching up with him in the Acme...he looked so perplexed as he stared at the list in his hand. .I asked what he was looking for and could I help ?....It seems the girls in the office had sent him out with a list of things they needed for the office and he was struggling to find exactaly what they wanted....no pulling rank...he just took the list and powered on. It was a long time before I could pass the corner of 206 and Lamington Rd. and not have a vision of a tall, soft spoken man immediatley pop up.....I feel lucky to have crossed paths with him so many years ago. I know it is a great loss for the famiiy but your many wonderful memories are yours forever.. So to the Hellwig kids Bo, Bart and Day, I send my deepest condolences. Time will ease the pain and the memories will assure you he is not that far away, just out of sight and the blessing of having had him in your life will warm you hearts over and over and over again.......God Bless, Janet Harms

Saying goodbye to a great friend. Always made my visit to dentist somewhat enjoyable. A friend for more that 50 plus years.
It was a pleasure seeing Dr.Hellwig around town.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Arthur’s patients and friends. Art found great satisfaction in the practice of dentistry but what mattered most to him was knowing and caring about his individual patients and their families.
I remember early in our marriage (thirty-five years ago) we’d both return home from work and talk about our day. I wondered, should I ask, “how was your day?”, thinking he might tell me about a root canal, but he rarely did. His focus was most often about a story that brought him joy that day. He especially loved having second and third generation patients from a family, seeing them grow-up and following their success. He enjoyed his profession in large measure because of how you personally touched his life.
Many Thanks,
Sharon Hellwig
A favorite photo of Art admiring the flowers he planted and thinking the dear wouldn’t get them in Bedminster.

Hey Guys, It’s Aunt Lizzie. I’m so so sorry for your loss (Mine too!). I’ll always remember when I called or came over. He always said “ OK Lizzie fill me in on the gossip!”. Many Sundays I went to Mass with him!! Always made me laugh!! I’ll sadly miss him but carry on going to Mass & lighting a candle in his name! I’m here if anyone needs anything. GOD BLESS
