Obituary of Joseph R Dillon

Joseph R Dillon, Sr., Owner of Dillon's Fine Art & Framing Joseph R. Dillon, Sr., longtime resident of the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township, passed peacefully at home on February 7, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Joseph married the love of his life, Shirley Temple, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Milburn in 1959. The couple renewed their wedding vows at All Saint's Episcopal Church in Millington in 1984. He was active in Rotary International in Watchung and Bernardsville. He was also a former Marine Reservist, tightrope walker, and an alpaca farmer. In addition to Dillon's Fine Art & Framing, through which he served Bernards Township and surrounding communities at Bernardsville Centre since 1988, Joseph also owned and operated businesses in Watchung, Bedminster, Millington, Bernardsville, and Liberty Corner. He provided consulting services to AT&T, was an active member of the Long Hill Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Boards of Directors of the NJ Chapter of the Professional Picture Framers Association and the Gasoline Retailers of NJ. He is survived by his wife Shirley Dillon of Basking Ridge, his children, Kathleen Perchonok and her husband Ross, of Boalsburg, PA; Tracy Dillon of Basking Ridge; Joseph R. Dillon Jr. and his wife Lyndsie Wilson, of Cherry Hill; and grandson Schuyler Aloysius Dillon of Cherry Hill. He is also survived by his sister, Marge Comey of Fernandina Beach, FL, and sister-in-law Margaret Dillon of Whiting.
