Obituary of James A McCort

James P. McCort, 89 of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away of a short illness on Saturday, February, 6, 2021 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his family. James was born in Manhattan, NY before moving to Basking Ridge where he spent most of his life. James was a proud United States Marine and fought in the Korean War. After the military, he worked as a steam fitter for Local Union #638 for many years before retiring. He was a member of King of Kings of Church in Basking Ridge, NJ. James is survived by his significant other Joan Schwendel. His 5 children, Beth Rodier and husband Roy, James McCort and wife Susan, Kathleen McCort and husband Richard Guido, Claire McCort, Sean McCort and wife Bonnie. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Megan, Meredith, Steven, Alisha, Jessica, Olivia, 6 great grandchildren. His sister Lucille Siegel, and many nieces and nephews. His is predeceased by his 9 siblings. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ from 10:00 – 12:00pm. Graveside will follow at 12:30pm at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, NJ.
