Obituary of June D Dugan

June Dorothy Dugan (Nee Hulings) 83, of Far Hills, NJ, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 30, 2021 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Devoted and loved partner, dear sister, cherished mother and grandmother, June was born on January 19, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Willis and Elvira Hulings. She graduated Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ in 1955. Soon after, she worked at Ferguson Marine Technology in Hoboken, NJ as an executive assistant to the president of the company. In 1958, June married Edward F. Dugan and later moved to Bernardsville, NJ and there, she took great pride in raising her 3 children. After divorcing in the early 80’s, she met the love of her life, George Rueter, with whom she had a loving relationship until her passing. June also managed George’s business, Rueter Construction, for 35 years. Everyone who had the good fortune to know June would best remember her unconditional and devotional love for her family and friends, as well as her never failing sense of humor. As much as she gave love to those around her, she inspired great love in everyone who met her. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, with a special love of her hummingbirds. Gardening also remained a lifelong passion, and beautiful flowers were always her favorites. She also loved her beautiful Koi pond. And everyone knew that she loved shopping and spoiling her children and grandchildren whenever she could. June had a very keen sense of humor that she passed to her children, and she loved cooking and entertaining family and friends regularly, always making the atmosphere light, fun and loving. One of her favorite things to do was go to the hair salon in Far Hills regularly to spend time with her best friend, June Buchanan, who owns the salon. June is predeceased by two younger brothers, Daniel and Michael Hulings. June is survived by the love of her life, George J. Rueter, her three children, Jamie Casale of Mendham, NJ, Edward F. Dugan and wife Tracey of Westfield, NJ, Kirsten Dugan of Far Hills, NJ, her brother Willis J. Hulings and his wife Dorothy, and her grandchildren, Daniel Casale, Erin, Edward, and Ian Dugan, Kayla Ann June Freeman, as well as many nieces and nephews and of course, her beloved dog, Bella. June will be profoundly missed by those who loved her. In lieu of flowers, she requested that family and friends make donations to the Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ in June’s memory. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 4 at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Ave., Basking Ridge, NJ from 5pm to 8pm.
