To the LeDell family - it's not easy for me to capture in words what Mr. LeDell meant to me. For all the strength and power he showed me that music could have, I'm not sure any song could even describe the sadness I felt when I heard of his passing. That being said, it's impossible to look back on my memories of John with anything but pure joy. He showed me how beautiful and how important music could be, and he gave me an outlet to express myself that no one and nothing else ever could.
Mr. LeDell - you once wrote, on the back of this photo, that you would always remember me, and that piano, "even when I was short on time," would allow me to enjoy the gift of music for a lifetime. I hope that you and your family know that it's not just me, and it's not just one lifetime, that will benefit immensely from your compassion and teaching. Thank you for giving me, my family, my friends, my future children, my future grandchildren, and anyone else whose life I will be fortunate enough to touch in the way that you touched mine, the gift of music. I'll always remember you, too. And I'll never be able to thank you enough.

Cinder and Family: It is with immense sadness that I write to express my condolences on John's passing. The kindness and compassion that he showed our daughter Maddie in particular and my entire family is something that I would never, ever have been able to repay or acknowledge enough. He was simply one of the finest human beings I have ever met in my life, and he will not be forgotten. I hope these words give you some peace at this difficult time. I am certain that John is now playing shortstop in heaven and enjoying a post-game beer with the members of his beloved Twins whom he's joined there. Thank you for letting us have the opportunity to know such a wonderful man, teacher and friend. The Moores (Cathy, Maddie, Brian S. and Brian W.)

I worked with John in NCGO and found him to be humorous and very intelligent. We missed him when he transferred to Corporate.
Now we will miss him even more.

I worked with John and Cinder at Prudential in Minneapolis back in the day. We were friends. John was a unique individual, creative and a bit of an iconoclast in the rather staid confines of the Prudential. He brought light and leadership to his work. He and Cinder were a vibrant couple and enjoyable to be with. We parted ways close to thirty years ago when I retired and John and Cinder moved on to New Jersey, but they remain in my good memories. Joan and I offer our condolences to you, Cinder, and to your family.

Mr. LeDell was such a light in mine and Michael's lives. He taught us to sing, to play piano and to most importantly have fun while making music. We will never forget his wonderful smile and the kindness he always showed us. He and Mrs. LeDell, more than just being our piano teachers, have become family to us and we will never forget the profound impacts they both have had on our lives. We send all our love, prayers, hugs and strength to Cinder, Aric, Jason and the rest of the LeDell family.
- Emily and Michael Thampoe
