Obituary of Barbara Ann Collins

Barbara A. Collins of Basking Ridge, NJ died on August 12, 2020 at the age of 98 years old. She is survived by her sister, Carol Clayton of Fellowship Village, her son Philip, six grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Collins. Barbara was born in Maplewood, NJ and had been a resident of Fellowship Village since its opening. Barbara attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and New York University and later worked in sales at Bloomingdales. Prior to moving to Basking Ridge she had resided with her family in Summit where she had been a member of Central Presbyterian Church. Barbara loved music, travelling, and her family. She attended the winter Olympic Games in Norway in 1984. She is described by many as always elegantly dressed, kind-spoken, cheerful, and very thoughtful of others. A discouraging word was not part of her being. Here is a typical quote about Barbara: "I've never met someone so gentle and kind." She was a wonderful lady and will be missed by many of her friends and family members.
