Obituary of Agnes D Gallagher

Agnes Gallagher (nee “Deacy”) of Basking Ridge passed away on July 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. The youngest of six children of Helena & Patrick Deacy, Agnes was born & raised in Brooklyn later moving to Bellerose Queens. She graduated from Dominican Commercial High School and worked for Railway Express in Manhattan before her marriage to James F. Gallagher in 1949. They enjoyed 59 wonderful years together before his passing in 2008. In addition to Jim, Agnes was predeceased by her son Brian in 1976 and her siblings, Patrick, Thomas, Margaret, Helen & Kathleen. Agnes is survived by her beloved children, James (Janet), Regina, Terrence (Lauren), Thomas (Lauren) and Eileen (Daniel) Esposito and her treasured grandchildren, Brian (Katie), Patrick, Jay, Elyse, Danny, Bridget and Kevin. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Before moving to Basking Ridge in 2012, Agnes resided in Florham Park for over 50 years where she raised her family and was an active member of Holy Family Parish. Faith and family were always the focus of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday July 22, 2020 at 11:00am at Saint James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Visitation at the church will be from 10:00-11:00am. COVID restrictions apply. Interment will be private.
