“Love is the reason for it all” was a quote I had posted in my kitchen years ago. On one of the many visits June and Leon made to our home, June read the quote aloud. After pondering for a moment, she said, “That’s so true, isn’t it?”. June was my Dad’s (Nick Clemens) first cousin. My three sisters and I, young children at the time, remember June’s many visits to upstate New York with her parents (Olga and Tom Lynn) years ago, visiting my grandparents, Nick and Helen Clemens, and my parents, Nick and Diane Clemens. She captivated everyone with her smile – a ray of sunshine, and when talking with her, a feeling of genuine interest. Later in time, my husband, Kevin, developed a wonderful friendship with June and Leon. They invited us to their home in Old Greenwich, going into NYC for Broadway shows, dinner, and even a Knicks game! After my parents retired to Florida, June and Leon would continue to come to the Adirondacks and stay with my husband and I at our home, and on occasion, we would take them further up north for a weekend to our family camp on Lake Eaton. When June would take her daily swim in the lake, she always said she was swimming in her ancestral waters. Myself working at Skidmore College, June’s Alma Mater, I convinced June one year to come to her class reunion. Leon and June had a delightful time returning again for the event a few years later. June’s zest for life was inspirational. Wherever June traveled, she left a trail of beautiful memories. Thank you, June. Love, Jill & Kevin Jones

June left a lot of beautiful memories behind. She will be missed.
June was my Dad’s cousin. She would make many trips to the Adirondacks to visit my Grandparents, Helen & Nick Clemens (which she adored), my Mother (Diane) and Father (Nick, which she always called Nicky).
My sisters and I would on every occasion look forward to her visits. June would come with a big smile. There was always so much laughter when she was around.
Later in life, myself living in Colorado I visited Leon, June, and had the pleasure of meeting Leon’s son, Frank was there, when they lived in Golden. I then had the pleasure of entertaining June, Leon, and Condi for dinner many years later while they were back visiting in Colorado. June unfailingly brought her beautiful smile and laughter, as you can see from the photograph.
Thank you June for the special memories I will always treasure. I can still hear your laughter.
I also envision June and Leon in that field of wildflowers by a cool stream; Leon with his fly rod and June wearing that beautiful smile.

Dear Kit, Conde and family.... what a beautiful tribute to a most wonderful, Intelligent, delightful, kind, compassionate, generous, loving and good humored woman. Let’s not forget her great joy of broadway musicals... ‘Oklahoma!’ Comes to mind among many. I am so grateful.... my heart is full .... June and Leon are together now walking amongst fields of wildflowers or perhaps near a cool stream. Their love for one another and love for you, their family and friends will continue to shine brightly. Their infectious laughter will be heard throughout the ages. Thank you for sharing them with me all these years.... a blessing. Most dear and delightful friends who touched the hearts of all my family who will miss them sincerely but with the full understanding they are at peace. Forever in our hearts.
