Obituary of William Lewis

On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, William (Bill) Walter Lewis, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home in Bedminster, New Jersey. Bill was born on March 22, 1950 in Massena, New York to Gean Gibson Lewis and Walter Ray Lewis. He was a 1968 graduate of Massena Central High School and received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1972. Bill most recently served as Vice President of Strategy at AMCS Corporation in New Jersey. He was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, dear brother, caring uncle, kind cousin and faithful friend. Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Judith Larsen Lewis; a son, Andrew Roper Lewis (Joanna); a daughter, Cara Jill Lewis (Francisco); a brother, John Lewis (Kim); four sisters, Connie Lewis Reitz (Bill), Cathy Lewis Bruschi (Damian), Susan Lewis Fitzgerald (Mike) and Jenifer Cohen (Bob); and sister-in-law, Barbara Hepner (Al). He took extreme pride in his five grandchildren, Will, James and Conor Lewis; and Tomas and Brie Hoyos. Bill is also survived by his niece, Catherine Reitz Thayer and four nephews, Steven Hepner, Keith Reitz and, Nathan and Dylan Bruschi along with many family and friends who will miss him dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held when the pandemic is over and Bill will be buried in the family plot in Massena, New York alongside his parents and grandparents.
