Obituary of Martin Khalil

Please remember to log onto Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home's Facebook to see live service. We will also have the service streaming on ZOOM. Please check back Friday for the Zoom information. With deepest sorrow, we announce that Martin Khalil, age 17 our beloved son, family member and friend passed away suddenly on March 27, 2020. Born in Aleppo, Syria on December 12, 2002. He grew up in the Bernardsville/Basking Ridge area. Martin was a lover of creating music, especially with friends, had a passion for drawing and loved animals. He was a big dreamer and his biggest dream was to always take care of his mother. He was an extremely loyal, loving, and funny. We will always remember his infectious smile. His presence in our lives will be sorely missed. Those who knew martin, even just a little, lost a shinning light in their lives. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. Survived by his mother and best friend, Lucy Karkemezian of Basking Ridge, NJ, his father Fouad Khalil of Hamilton, Ontario Canada, his aunt Amira K. Charchar and family, his Uncle Assadour Karkmazyan and family, his aunt Mirna Esso and family, and his uncle Johni Khalil and family. Due to the current public health concerns around large gatherings, the family and funeral home have asked that we limit attendance to the memorial services to only those that are personally invited by the family. In lieu of attending, we will be live streaming the service via the links thru Facebook and Zoom that are provided above. Live stream will begin at 12pm on Friday April 3, 2020. Please call the funeral home ahead of time for assistance.
