Martha and I go way back. I babysat her on occasions when my brother and her mom went out, though I couldn't have been a whole lot older than she was! I vividly remember her coming to Sunday school and marching determinedly through the main room to the young children in the back. A few years later, we also did horse things together. As we grew older, we saw less of each other but stayed in touch. I am sorry to lose a good friend but know for certain that she is at Home with our Lord.

Martha and I met when our sons, David and Kevin, attended TOTS Cooperative Nursery School in Moorestown New Jersey. What a sweet, caring, individual we don’t often find in this life. We got together and had fun taking the boys to the skating rink after preschool on Thursdays. We’d watch them from a distance while having some lunch. Also most every Monday night we would meet at McDonald’s, or Burger King for dinner with the boys. She was such a great listener, and always empathetic to whatever I might have been going through. And she could “unload” too!! Girlfriend time, because the boys would be busy with their own fun. We attended Village Presbyterian Church together, which gave us other connections with wonderful people. She would always share about her work at Parkway school. We spent time at the shore together also, always having fun with the kids. Birthday parties at Strawbridge Lake. David’s party was late summer, so sometime we have to run away from the bees that were interested in our birthday lunch!
She will forever be in my memory as a faithful and true friend, striving through life with her precious son. Until we meet again in that heavenly place prepared for us, may we all strive to be as loving and faithful a friend as Martha was.
Love always,
Liz

I worked as an aide in Martha’s kindergarten class for 2 years. She taught me so much about early childhood development. We had so much fun and laughed so hard, at times, we cried. So many good memories—leading the Halloween parade dressed in giant gift boxes carrying a plywood birthday cake made by Joe. And, Martha whooping it up leading a line of kindergartens pretending they were Native Americans, and working overtime decorating our classroom for Expo nights. We worked hard to give our kindergartens a great education and had a lot of fun doing it. I am forever grateful to Martha for helping me get my first job teaching in Mt. Laurel. Rest In Peace my dear mentor and friend.

Martha’s strength and brilliance was what I had the honor of witnessing everyday we taught together in Parkway School’s kindergarten. She worked hard, fought for her students and loved completely with all of her heart. Her courage and faith in God was at the center of her life. I will miss you my friend! You are God’s angel and I love you.
