Ellsworth (Kenneth), of Cranbury NJ; Lisa J. Moretti (David Jones) of Hampton, NJ; his grandchildren Anthony and Sofia Moretti; Katherine, Emily, William, and Matthew Ellsworth; his step-grandchildren Mackenzie and Rylee Jones; Hanna, Cala, Sarah, Eli Hawk; and step-great grandson Harrison Dean Holladay; and his most cherished four-legged friend Bruce, who was also curled up by his side. He is preceded in death by his mother Cecilia Coda Moretti and father Dr. John Joseph Moretti, MD; and brother John J. Moretti. Alan was born on October 31, 1935 in Newark NJ. He graduated from the University of Maryland and Thomas Jefferson Medical School Philadelphia. He completed his anesthesia residency at NY-Presbyterian/Columbia Medical Center in New York. He served in the United States Army as a Captain in the Medical Corp. during the era of the Vietnam War. Alan was an Anesthesiologist for forty years at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. Alan was a true Renaissance man. He loved the arts, languages, the opera, and a good joke. He was a man of many talents, that included: cycling, tennis, hiking, skiing, camping, painting, photography, sketching, cartooning, playing the ukulele, inventing, and learning foreign languages. He was an avid New York Yankee Baseball fan and loved riding in his red convertible with the top-down listening to Willie Nelson or Jimmy Buffet. Above all, Alan was the best husband, father, and Nonno for which anyone could ask. There is no doubt that his family was the greatest love, joy, and pride of his life. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 31, at 10:00AM at the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church located at 45 Church Street, Liberty Corner, NJ.
