Obituary of Peggy Anderson

*****PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN LOCATION BELOW***** Peggy Serafin Anderson, 75, of Basking Ridge (formerly of Union, NJ) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15th, 2020.  Peggy was born in Elizabeth, NJ on April 12,1944 and attended Sacred Heart High School where she began building her network of life long friends.  Peggy had an adventurous spirit and after graduating high school decided she was going to travel the world.  Along her travels she decided to join the Peace Corps and spent two years in Thailand giving back and helping others. After the Peace Corps, Peggy lived outside of Washington, D.C. and started a family, eventually coming back to her roots in New Jersey. She went on to get her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Kean University and then worked at Kemper Insurance and Aetna as a collections specialist. Peggy loved spending time at the Jersey Shore where she spent much of her retirement years. She also truly enjoyed celebrating her Irish roots. Peggy is survived by her three beloved children, her daughter Kate Stark and her husband Eric, her son David and his wife Lorraine, her daughter Mary and her partner Ray, and six grandchildren Jake, Alexa, Emma, Caroline, Tyler, and Charlotte, all of whom were the joy of her life.  She is also survived by her brother Walter Serafin and his wife Vicky, her sister Nancy Mellage and her husband Bob, and her sister Patty Fox and her husband John, as well as all her nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends. She is predeceased by her brother Jimmy. *****The celebration of Peggy’s life will include a visitation on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the chapel AT GALLAWAY AND CRANE FUNERAL HOME, 101 South Finley Avenue Basking Ridge, NJ.*****   The funeral is Saturday at 10AM at St James Church, 184 South Finley Avenue Basking Ridge, NJ.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to https://www.peacecorps.gov/faqs/donate/ or a charity of your choice *****PLEASE NOTE - CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL NOW BE HELD AT FUNERAL HOME, NOT CHURCH*****
