Obituary of Karen M Kovacs

Karen Mariano Kovacs, 74, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020 with her family by her side. Nonnie, as she was affectionately known by her four grandchildren, would brighten everyone’s day with her constant zest for life and beautiful smile. Born in Stamford, CT on March 5, 1945, Karen and her husband John spent over 40 years in Bernardsville, NJ, where she also spent over 25 years working as a successful real estate agent. She was a beacon of kindness, always putting others first, and a reliable friend that everyone could count on. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends more than anything, and loved bringing people together and seeing them happy. All of us benefited tremendously from having known her and we hope to carry her compassion, love and grace to all of those around us each and every day. She truly was an angel and will leave a void in our hearts. She is survived by her loving husband John, her son John Michael Kovacs and his wife Ann and their two children Hadley and Landon, her daughter Kristen Doherty and her husband Kevin and their two boys Finnegan and Parker, her sister Barbara, her brother Michael and his wife Frannie, and a whole bunch of beloved nieces, great nieces and nephews, and more friends than we can count. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 202 at 10 am at the Church of our Lady of Perpetual Help, 111 Claremont Road, Bernardsville, NJ.
