Obituary of Seta Kopp
Seta Z. Kopp, of Basking Ridge, passed away on September 12, 2019.
Seta Ziver Kopp was born November 14, 1932, in Istanbul Turkey, to Levon and Isguhi Ziver.
She moved to the United States to attend Randolph-Macon College in Lynchburg, Virginia, studying music and obtaining her B.A. She continued her education earning an M.A. in French at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where she met her husband Richard Kopp.
Seta and Richard lived in Worcester MA, where they started their family, and then moved to Summit NJ. Seta worked at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals company in Summit NJ (later Novartis in East HanoverNJ) managing regulatory filings for new drugs.
Besides her family, her great loves were classical music, playing the piano, languages and the Armenian church. She was the organist at St. Mary’s Armenian Church in Livingston NJ for over 25 years, also participated in the choir and many church events.
She is survived by her brother Garo Ziver of Elmira NY, her nieces Iska Ziver of Ithaca NY, Talin Yakupyan of Istanbul Turkey, and her children: Nadya Babigian of Basking Ridge and Erik Kopp of Montgomery, NJ. She is also survived by her five loving grandchildren: Alexander Babigian, Jason Babigian, Devin Kopp, Daniel Kopp, and Hailey Kopp.
A viewing is scheduled for Monday, September 16th at 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ.
Funeral services are on Tuesday, September 17th at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Armenian Church in Livingston NJ.
