Obituary of John Arnold

John J. Arnold, 60, son of Margaret J. Arnold and Robert E. Arnold (deceased) passed away at home on September 7 after a long battle with leukemia. He leaves behind his best friend and tireless caregiver, Kay Anderson, his mother, Margaret Arnold, two brothers, Robert and David, sister, Doris Mertz and three nieces and three nephews.

John graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School and Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Photography.

He worked for seven years at CIBA in Summit, NJ before pursuing his dream of owning his own photography business, The Esoteric View. John was a painstaking perfectionist in his craft and his work was shown at several area art galleries.

John was a lifelong member of Meyersville Presbyterian Church. Always willing to help, he served several terms as Ruling Elder. In addition, John shared his talents by providing creative expertise and equipment for numerous pageants and dramatic productions at the church.

John’s love of God’s natural world and travel led to many fine adventures from rafting the Grand Canyon to traveling to Australia and Bali with Kay to visit her family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 2 pm at Meyersville Presbyterian Church, 223 Hickory Tavern Road, Gillette, NJ.

As September is Blood Cancer Awareness month, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, LLS.org, or to the Memorial Fund of Meyersville Presbyterian Church.

Services were held by Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 South Finley Avenue, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.  For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit their website at www.gcfuneralhome.com
