Obituary of Emilie P Williams

Emilie Irene Pandick Williams Financial Printer - Golf Devotee Emilie I. Williams of New Vernon, New Jersey passed away peacefully at her home on April 23, 2012. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey and raised in Fanwood, Emilie, known fondly as Emmo, graduated from Scotch Plains High School in 1942. She then joined the family financial and printing firm, Pandick Press, Inc. in New York City. She retired in 1955 after her marriage to Thomas R. Williams. An avid golfer, Emmo was a member of Morris County Golf Club for 48 years as well as Saucon Valley Country Club, Desert Forest Golf Club and The Desert Mountain Club (where she aced the 18th hole). She arranged the annual Emmy Award tournament of Morris County for 34 years and was a long time member of the Women's New Jersey Golf Association and the Woman's Metropolitan Golf Association. She was also with her girls a frequent guest in the annual Bermuda International. In addition to being a superb homemaker and seamstress, she was a founding member of the New Jersey Jazz Society. Her favorite Sunday afternoon pastime was golf with the girls followed by The New York Times crossword puzzle. In addition to her husband of 57 years, Tom, she is survived by her son Peter, his wife Jane and grandson, Alexander, her son Scott and wife Robin, grandson Zachary and granddaughter Emily and a great grandson, Drake. She is also survived by her twin sister Mary Havlicek, with whom she traveled the world, and her brother Oakley Pandick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emilie's name to the Seeing Eye, 10 Washington Valley Road, Morristown, NJ 07960-3412. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the New Vernon Presbyterian Church on Lee's Hill Road in New Vernon, NJ.
