Obituary of Richard H Romano
Richard H. Romano, of Raleigh, N.C. died unexpectedly at his home on February 20, 2019. Mr. Romano was raised in Basking Ridge graduating from Ridge High School in 1977. He retired after 25 years from the Bernards Township Road Dept. and moved to Raleigh. He was always a car enthusiast and upon retirement he purchased his dream Mustang that brought him great joy. Rich also enjoyed gun collecting and target shooting.
Mr. Romano was predeceased by his beloved wife Kim Thorston Romano. She was the love of his life and they enjoyed spending time together watching NASCAR, going down the Jersey shore and boating. He was also predeceased by his father Harold M. Romano in 1989. He is survived by his loving mother, Claire Romano of Parkville, MD, his best friend Cheryl Beyer from NJ, and five cousins and their families in MD, MA. and FL.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Memorial Hospital, St. Huberts animal shelter in Madison, NJ or your local animal shelter would be appreciated. His Shepherd Max was his constant companion until he passed recently. All of his Shepherds including Max were from an animal shelter.
