Stephanie Gingeleskie

Obituary of Stephanie R Gingeleskie

Stephanie Regina (Spiech) Gingeleskie passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 2, 2019.

Stephanie was born July 9, 1948 in Suffern, NY to Stephanie (Wash) and Joseph Spiech.  She was raised in a loving and happy home with her brothers Joseph and Stanley (Stas).  She attended Mahwah High School, graduating in 1966.  She continued her education at St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Paterson, NJ.  While attending nursing school, she was introduced by mutual friends to her future husband and the love of her life, the late Joseph Gingeleskie. Stephanie and Joe were married at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah, NJ in 1973.

Stephanie was a devoted wife, a loving mother to four wonderful children, and a caring grandmother to ten grandchildren. She also enjoyed the companionship of her two sweet puppies, Tasha and Sasha.  Stephanie’s joy was spending time with her family, gardening and tending to her beautiful roses, discussing politics, and making her grandchildren’s favorite chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes.  She was known to all as a kind soul who felt deep empathy for others. She was an advocate for the less fortunate, volunteering with charities such as Bridges Outreach, Inc. in Summit, NJ, a group that helps feed and clothe the homeless. She was progressive in her beliefs and felt strongly that in life one should strive, above all, to love and treat everyone with respect.

Stephanie is survived by her dear brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Beatrice Spiech and their children Christopher and Matthew; her late brother Stas’ wife, her sister-in-law Lisa Spiech; and her late husband Joseph’s brother Robert Gingeleskie, his wife Gail and their children Christina, Peter and Victoria. She is also survived by her devoted children and their families: Justin, Cathy and children Joey, Rory and Coby; Gregory, Marissa and children Christian, Ethan and Alexander; David, Lisa and children Emma and Elena; Danielle, Steve and children Liam and Skyler.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
