Obituary of Frances Brown Barker

Barker, Frances Brown of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away, Friday April 6. Born in Newark to G. Gilbert and Sara C. Brown, Frannie raised her family in Short Hills. She eventually moved back to Basking Ridge where she enjoyed summers in her childhood. With Jack, her husband of 64 years, Frannie took her greatest pride in raising their family and enjoying their eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Whether at home or on their many trips overseas Frannie was a natural at making friends and keeping them throughout her life. Frannie was a lifelong community volunteer including extended service to Planned Parenthood and Overlook Hospital. Her interests covered a wide spectrum over her lifetime: piloting an airplane, tennis, golf, needlepoint, creating jigsaw puzzles, and bridge to name a few. Most of all, Frannie will be remembered as a loving woman with a sense of humor, an easy laugh, and bright blue eyes. A Memorial service will be held on Friday April 13 at 11:00 AM, at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church, One East Oak St., Basking Ridge.
