Obituary of James Leonard, Jr.

LEONARD, James P. Jr. Age 54, of Far Hills, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 20, 2018. Jim is survived by his wife of 27 years, Liz, and his daughters Julia and Brenna. He is the son of the late James and Noreen Leonard, and survived by brothers Patrick and Robert, sister Mary, father and mother-in-law John and Joanne Price, and brother-in-law Andrew. Jim had a large extended family and loved spending time with family and friends. Jim graduated from Cohasset High School and Iona College. Jim was a great athlete and enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, and baseball in high school, and played soccer at Iona. Jim had many accomplishments throughout his career. He held senior management positions at Fidelity Investments and was Chief Operating Officer at Schwab Capital Markets. He was a Managing Director for The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. Jim was a great colleague and leaves behind many friends in the financial services industry. Jim's happiest days as a child were spent on the beach in The Hamptons and Cohasset, and later with his family in Duxbury and Cape Cod. He enjoyed skiing, travelling, and spending time with his "Leonard Ladies." He loved his Patriots and attended a Super Bowl victory. He was a generous man and went out of his way to please others. Always standing out in the crowd, Jim will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Visiting Hours: Family and friends are invited to the Leonard home, Friday evening, January 4th at 6pm to share memories of Jim. A Memorial Mass will be held on January 5th at 12pm at St. James Catholic Church in Basking Ridge, NJ. Donations in Jim's memory can be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
