Maxwell Liroff

Obituary of Maxwell W Liroff

It is with great sadness that the family of Max Liroff, 25, announces his passing November 23rd after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Born in Flemington, NJ, Max resided with his family, parents Scott and Alison Liroff, and sister, Wendy Liroff, in Basking Ridge until this year. He lived in Chatham, NJ with his dear girlfriend Carolyn Mullen and their kitten, Copper-Bagel, at the time of his passing. Max graduated from Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, NJ in 2011 and attended University of Arizona, Pima County Community College, and Raritan Valley Community College.

He was employed by Trap Rock Brewery for several years, and City Knickerbocker, his family’s lighting business in New York City. He was recently interested in starting a career in commercial photography.

Max was very fond of the outdoors, a super musician, and a lover of all music. He was an encyclopedia when it came to automobiles. Max was passionate about his friends, evidenced by those wonderful ones he left behind. And he was truly passionate about the fight against cancer.

Max is survived by his girlfriend, Carolyn, Mom and Dad, Alison and Scott, Sister, Wendy, Grandparents, Maddy and Ken Liroff, Dori and Terry Warren, Aunts and Uncles, Jodi Epstein, Mardi Snyder, Karen and Mike Schneider, Doug and Alison Warren, and cousins, Samantha Epstein, Charlie Schneider, Andrew and Jaime Schneider, Gabby Schneider, Jenny and Brett Coluccio, Braden and Walker Coluccio, Colin and Stephanie Warren, Ben Warren, Toby Warren, and many Cordell, Warren, Crozier, Liroff and Madorsky cousins as well as many wonderful friends.

A celebration of Max’s life is planned by the family, details of which will be available on the website of Galloway and Crane Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Cycle for Survival team - “Ride to the Max”, to benefit rare cancers.
