Edward Kosecki, 99 of Brooklyn, NY went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov 10, 2018. Born in Detroit, MI he was the son of the late Leon and Agnes Kosecki (nee) Cichocki. Both his parents died when Edward was young; 3 yrs old when his mom died and 19 when his father died.
Ed developed a fondness for music and artistry in his early years; teaching himself to play the saxophone and developing a talent for drawing. He served in WWII from 1942 to 1945 as a Staff Sergeant. After the war he married Lucy Capobianco in 1945 and settled in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY. At the time of his death he was the loving and devoted husband to Lucy for nearly 73 yrs.
Ed worked as a tool and die maker for several years and eventually worked for the New York Transit Authority on train maintenance and administrative issues. But his true work passion was in photography. He owned his own studio specializing in portraits and weddings and also worked for other photography studios in the Brooklyn area. He also loved to play golf and would be seen on the fairways and greens at Dyker Beach golf course in Brooklyn whenever the weather was good.
He was a devoted, kind and generous family man always having a caring ear to listen to his two children and wife as well as friends neighbors and relatives. Ed is survived and will be fondly remembered by his wife, Lucy, daughter, Janet Wagner, son, Robert Kosecki, grandchildren, Chelsea and Derek Kosecki and daughter in-law, Celie Kosecki.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fellowship Village and the VNA Hospice of Somerset Hills for their expert care and guidance.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 9:00 - 10:30AM at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. Funeral Mass will follow at St. James Church, 184 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ, 11:00AM.
