Obituary of Victor Mastrobattista
Victor "Nebs" Mastrobattista, 88, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 23 at his home in Bernardsville surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of Bernardsville, Nebs graduated from Bernards High School in 1948 where he was a standout football player. After High school he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Germany as a Corporal. Following his military service, Nebs was trained and became a professional Butcher. He returned to Bernardsville where he spent the next four decades working in the family business at Atlas Market. In his free time, Nebs was avid golfer, which was his lifetime passion. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Nebs was predeceased by his parents Secondo and Pasqualina, as well as his brothers Attilio and Samuel. He is survived by his sister Louise and brother Andrew, along with ten nieces and nephews, and fifteen great-nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 4-7pm at Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave, Basking Ridge. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018, 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Seney Drive, Bernardsville. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge.
